Today ICC has announced the 2016 Twenty20 world cup fixtures and groups. The tournament will start with preliminary round on 08th March 2016 and the final will be played on 03 April 2016 in Eden Gardens Kolkata. Below is the full list of fixtures and dates.

First Round: (Group winners qualify for super 10 stage)

Group A: Bangladesh, Ireland, Holland & Oman
Group B: Zimbabwe, Scotland, Afghanistan & Hong Kong

Super 10 Round: (Group winners and runners-up qualify for semifinals)

Super 10 Group 1: South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, England and Qualified B
Super 10 Group 2: India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and Qualified A

Teams:

For the second time, the tournament will feature 16 teams. All ten full members qualified automatically, joined by the six associate members that qualified through the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, played in Ireland and Scotland between 6 and 26 July 2015. The qualifying teams are Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Oman. Oman is the only team making its tournament debut.

The top eight Full Member nations in the ICC T20I Championship rankings as of 30 April 2014 automatically progressed to the Super 10 stage, with the remaining eight teams compete in the group stage, from which two teams advance to the Super 10 stage.

Venues:

On 21 July 2015, the Indian cricket board announced the name of the cities which will be hosting the matches. Bengaluru, Chennai, Dharamsala, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi will be the venues along with Kolkata, which will also host the final of the event.

Schedule:

The 2016 ICC World Twenty20 will be the sixth ICC World Twenty20, and the first to be hosted by India. Sri Lanka are the defending champions, having won the 2014 edition. Following are full time table, venues, date details are given.
